Use Hunch Board with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Codex

Hunch Board is the drawing. The AI you already use writes the code. Paste this once, then describe the project. The file it should create is board.hunch.

Read https://www.hunchboard.dev/HUNCH-SKILL.md and then draw the board of my project in board.hunch before you write code. Hunch Board is the board; the AI I already use writes the code. If that site does not open, use https://github.com/Chyper00/hunch-board. Check the drawing with npx hunch-board check --json.

Inside a repository

npx hunch-board init writes board.hunch, copies the skill to .claude/skills/hunch/SKILL.md, and adds a note to AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md. An assistant that opens the folder finds Hunch Board without a search.

npx hunch-board init
npx hunch-board check --json

The same commands, with no package registry: node .hunch/hunch.mjs init. The file is hunch.mjs on this site, and in the public repository github.com/Chyper00/hunch-board.

Claude Code, Cursor and Codex

The MCP server runs on the same machine as the board. It reads and writes board.hunch, lists what the drawing leaves open, and checks the code.

claude mcp add hunch-board -- npx hunch-board mcp

Cursor and Codex use the same command in their MCP settings:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "hunch-board": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["hunch-board", "mcp"]
    }
  }
}

A chat that only pastes text

Claude and ChatGPT on the web get the copied instruction above. The long guide is the skill. The one-page version is the grammar.
